Motorway vignette validity: Daily (1 day) vignette: Valid on all toll roads in Hungary from the time of purchase until midnight on the day of purchase. If purchased in advance, valid from midnight on the day of purchase until midnight. Weekly (10 days) vignette: Valid for the day indicated by the customer and 9 additional consecutive days, until midnight of the 10th day. Monthly (1 month) vignette: Valid from the start day indicated by the customer until midnight of the same day in the next month.
Yearly/Annual vignette:
– Valid for all toll roads in Hungary from the first day of the reference year until midnight on January 31 of the following year. If purchased within the validity period, provide road use authorization from the time of purchase.

Please make sure to remember the following points when purchasing a vignette to avoid fines in Hungary:
– Ensure that you purchase the e-vignette for the correct vehicle category.
– Enter the correct license plate number.
– Double-check the start date of the validity period.

This is a list of exemptions from the vignette regulation:
1. The Hungarian Armed Forces for the protection of public order and NATO bodies for the management of the public road network.
2. Civil protection agencies.
3. Transport authorities.
4. Bodies responsible for toll collection and monitoring tasks.
5. Other authorized bodies.

The Hungarian e-vignette system is completely electronic and uses registration number readers to check if road use authorization (digital vignette) has been purchased for the given number plate. You don’t need to print the vignette and stick it to your windshield. However, it is recommended to keep the confirmation email as proof.
